Assessment of Status: Partially Complete

The USGS has researched the ability for Redwoods to sequester carbon in the Redwood National Park. In addition, the Pacific Forest Trust conducts research on the potential for carbon sequestration in forests. However, there does not seem to be a concerted effort to assess the overall potential for federal lands to sequester carbon.
