The Grassland Reserve Program is a voluntary program through the US Department of Agriculture that promotes conservation of grasslands by providing funding for long-term conservation while allowing grazing of grasslands.
There are many examples of inter-agency, cooperative initiatives for grassland restoration in both the Midwest and in Florida. These initiatives partner with private landowners to accelerate restoration. For example, the Grasslands Reserve Program creates partnerships with farmers to limit development on lands while continuing grazing opportunities on grasslands.
